WELLINGTON will be looking for back to back wins in the Somerset Division of the West of England Premier Cricket League when they play away to Taunton Deane at the Convent Field on Saturday, May 31 (12 noon).

Arron Campbell’s boys got their season under way last Saturday when they gained a fine six-wicket home victory over Ilminster to move up to seventh in the table.

Taunton Deane also won last Saturday, beating Bridgwater 2nd XI by ten runs to go fourth in the table which is topped by 100 per centers Temple Cloud who have a 15-point lead over second placed North Perrott following four wins.

Wellington 2nd XI, lying second in Division Two of the Somerset League, will be chasing their fourth victory of the season when they entertain their Taunton counterparts who have lost three of their opening four matches.

Wellington gained an impressive win last weekend when they beat leaders Burnham on Sea away by six wickets. Alex Derbidge took 3-19 and Neil Hendy 3-37, while Ben Evett scored 77 not out.

Wellington 3rd XI will be hoping to get back into action when they play away to Wembdon 5th XI in Division Seven Red. Two of Wellington’s three fixtures have been cancelled.

Meanwhile, the Taunton & District Youth League continues with matches on Friday, May 30. Wellington Dukes are away to Over Stowey while Wiveliscombe play at Yeovil - both in the Under 13 8s West section.

The youth league continues with games on Sunday, June 1. Wellington are away to Bishops Hull in Under 11 West B, while Wiveliscombe are away to Wombats in the same division.

Wellington are home to Taunton Deane Pumas in Under 15 11 a side, while Wiveliscombe are home to Bishops Hull in Under 15 8s LMS West.
