A TOWN museum is commemorating VJ Day with a special wartime exhibition.
The Wellington Local History and Museum Society window display will be on show until the end of August.
A spokesperson for the museum said: “The items in the window we hope reflect wartime in Wellington.
“The museum is displaying these items as part of Wellington’s 80th anniversary celebrations of VJ Day which culminate in the special evening of Friday, August 15, in Wellington Park.”
The display features the American flag, a tin helmet worn by a Wellington air raid warden, a gas mask issued to a resident, among other items.
The next window display will be exhibited from early September in celebration of 200 years of the railways, followed by the remembrance window at the end of October.
