A HIGHLY successful ‘tipsy afternoon tea’ was held in the Church Room, Hemyock, to raise funds for the parish church.

Nearly 50 guests met in the garden, which was decorated with bunting, and were welcomed with a glass of Pimms or soft drink before moving into the main room where tables had been set with white tablecloths, vintage china, and vases of flowers.

Sandwiches, sausage rolls, cakes, and scones with cream and jam, along with tea and coffee, were enjoyed.

Following the tea, a quiz was held and raffle prizes presented.

Thanks were given to the Friends of St Mary’s for organising the event with many of those attending hoping it would become a regular event in the church calendar.
